A major objective for the Imo State Government at the moment is to promote collaborative governance through the enrolment of the private sector in co-creating solutions to the challenges confronting the State. One of such challenges is the high rate of unemployment, which has other possible negative impacts on society such as increase in poverty levels, a rising crime rate, insecurity and exploitation of labour, especially amongst our youths.
The Corporate Imo Impact Partnership (CIIP) is a voluntary network of private sector actors, donor agencies, development partners and other organizations interested in the sustainable development of the Imo economy through job creation and entrepreneurship. It is designed to frontally address the challenges of unemployment through coordinated job creation and entrepreneurship development in a way that promotes shared prosperity. The objective is to tap into the goodwill of interested organisations and promote collaborative governance for enhanced collective impact. CIIP is conceived to be self-organizing and flexible to cater for individual requirements and needs of participating private organisations.
The CIIP initiative is scheduled to launch officially in 2022 and will be open for public attendance.
