About
The Office of the Chief Economic Adviser provides expert advice and recommendations to the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, and the government of Imo State on economic issues.
To achieve this objective, the Office, led by Professor Kenneth Amaeshi, employs a range of strategic approaches, including:
- Conducting research on economic issues to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Monitoring economic trends and developments to ensure timely and informed interventions.
- Implementing economic programs and projects in collaboration with government agencies, private sector partners, and other stakeholders
- Fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the Office to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
Inception
Since January 2022, when Professor Kenneth Amaeshi resumed as the Chief Economic Adviser, the Office has achieved significant milestones. It has initiated and implemented various policies and programs aimed at boosting economic activities in Imo State.
Mission
Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Office of the Chief Economic Adviser remains steadfast in its mission to drive economic growth and development in Imo State. By promoting entrepreneurship through impactful initiatives, attracting investments, and creating opportunities, we aim to build a vibrant and inclusive economy that offers opportunities for all citizens to thrive thereby contributing to the realization of the full potential of Imo State's economy.
Achievements
Some of the achievements include The Imo Economy Study Network, also known as the TIES Network, which studies Imo economy and discusses its potentials in a bi-monthly webinar known as the TIES webinar, The One Kindred, One Business Initiative (OKOBI), which is aimed at grassroot business empowerment from kindreds and communities; The Imo Industrial Policy, which is geared towards making industries work for all
