The Imo State Industrial Policy (ISIP) is designed to offer a fresh, pragmatic and actionable perspective to the state’s rationale and definitive approach to industrialization. Some of the priority sections highlighted in the policy include the digital economy, agriculture, fabrication, tourism, renewables and others. The intention of the industrial policy is to articulate what each of the above-listed sectors should focus on in terms of development and how it can be utilised to create shared prosperity for the people of the State. It also covers financing mechanisms, governance infrastructure, and necessary complementary policies which can be developed to constitutively make the policy unique, fit for purpose and innovative. The policy document is in its final drafting stages and will be released to the public once finalised.
